Risk aversion

I don't believe you can set a bot to play for risk aversion, because by definition, that play yields lower equity than the optimum play. I believe you could teach a bot to give you the play that leads to the fewest losses and fewest gammons without consideration for how many gammons you might win with a higher equity play, but at any cube level, that would be a foolish way to play backgammon.
If you are going to play the odds differently at higher cubes, I would love to have you in my chouette. Personally, I don't like high cubes either, because I don't want to win or lose too much in a single game or roll of the dice, and I am always willing to settle high cubes for the fair settlement, and sometimes I might even give away a small amount to settle. Whether I am playing with a friend or a fish, I don't want to hurt them too much, and I don't particularly like being hurt myself, either.
