I see two possibilities. First of all, I tell myself that it is highly unlikely that I will lose this game. Thus, my primary objective is to win a gammon. 3/off 3/1 is an obvious possibility. Yet, what about 3/off 4/2*. This may be wrong but let me explain its appeal. It forces White to lose 1/2 of his throw to enter. 1/9 of the time, White will dance. 45% of the time, White will miss. This move may win the most gammons. It definitely loses more. However, OTB I may lack the courage and play 3/off 3/1. No, I gotta play 3/off 4/2*. It may be wrong but it looks like so much fun.
