Putting BOTH dice on your LH side is multiply unambiguous. Also, it gives opp the choice of dice for the opening roll, somewhat analogous to a dice change between games when both players end up with their own pair (i.e. in non-clocked BG). I think this should be the standard and will try and remember to do it from now on.
