Don't leave a triple shot. So either 10/8 or the duplicating 11/9. After 10/8 you get hit by 6, 4, 3-1, 2-2, 1-1, 5-1, 5-3 -- a total of 28 numbers. After 11/9 you get hit by 4, 5, 3-1, 2-2, 1-1, 6-2 -- a total of 26 shots. (Sam, did I count correctly?)
If it were just minimizing shots, 11/9 would be the choice. However, after 10/8 opp leaves a return shot with 4-5, 3-5, and 3-1. (I assume he lifts with 4-1, 4-2, 4-3 and shifts with 1-1.) After 11/9 opp leaves a blot with 3-1 and 6-2. So a net of 2/36 BUT you must hit so that's discounted by 11/36. There are secondary issues (like anchoring or sending a second White checker back). Still, the "soonest issue gets the attention" phenomenon seems to point to minimizing total shots with...
11/9.
