I've been reading and commenting on rulings here and on GammonU for over 10 years and this is the first time my jaw dropped.

I can't believe some of the responses I'm reading here. Most of us know the (m/l biblical) tale of King Solomon and the two women fighting over whose baby was before them. King Solomon proposed cutting the baby in half. One of the (supposed) mothers agreed and the other said "no, give it to her; I don't want this child harmed." And then King Solomon knew who the mother was.

There apparently is at least one King Solomon amongst us who choose to chop first and ask questions later. I didn't expect this.

And before Phil chimes in, I'm going to say it first -- if this is the confusion/illogic that the current rules lead to then they are about as fubarred as they can be.

This should be the biggest slam dunk ruling in backgammon history!
