...I would be interested in seeing (when you post the rollout) how much the position needs to be altered in order to make the other play correct. Thanks!

You're welcome, but I think you would learn much better by fiddling with the checkers yourself. This is a pedagogical tool I learned from Neil and it has proven valuable.
