Madison Update

I thought Madison was a Swiss tourney.

I don't understand the question, unless it was tongue-in-cheek (well, then I still don't understand that either :). Settings are 2-12.

We are on a tight schedule -- 2 hours between starting times for 9 point matches. I'm surprised there hasn't been a backup but the match pairings were posted on time (even 5 minutes early) for the Open all day yesterday. For example, RDR and I played a first round match in 1 hr 55 min and we each had about 5 minutes reserve time at the end. And as Adam said, not a lot of matches are being clocked, although I think more than those he mentioned.

Today it's three rounds starting at 11:00 (Central time); dinner break 5:30-7:30. Then resume for evening play. (Tom Machaj was unsure before the start yesterday how many Swiss rounds there would be. I don't know how he decides but apparently has an algorithm.)

Matt tells me Neil and Joe play in today's first round (round 6 overall).
