Yes, Gregg...when playing someone who lies, cheats, goes back on his word, there really is no remedy other than to make sure that same dog don't bite you twice, and, for personal satisfaction and the protection of your fellow players, make it known to all what kind of person is in the room. You didn't truly take it literally that Stick or I would stab someone with a knife if they lied and cheated, did you? But we would certainly call them on it and let it be known that the person is of low character, and I would hope you would do the same.

There are people I refuse to play with because of their character, and when I am forced to play them in a tournament, I try to get at least one witness, as the presence of the witness is likely to prevent that person from cheating. Not only do I protect myself, I make sure my friends are aware of this person's propensity to cheat, and of course, I make sure the tournament director is aware as well.

And yes, I think this speaks highly of myself, Stick, Bill Riles, Ed O'Laughlin, and others I have seen on this forum have the guts to speak out against people who are liars and cheats.

Do you really think that is wrong to do, or do you just resent the image of the knife in the throat?
