ruling in Madison

First, I have heard nothing here that shows me that the ethical dilemma doesn't exist with legal plays, it does and it would. I've explained it quite clearly. If at DMP my opponent rolls, thinks he fans when he didn't, picks up his dice, and the difference is $10,000 in winnings between him entering or not, I HAVE a dilemma with a 'legal plays' rule. With the current rule, none exists.
If I always look away when my opponent rolls and moves, thus never gaining knowledge of whether his play is illegal or not, then obviously no dilemma occurs. But this is a nonsensical hypothetical, as it doesn't happen.
A 'legal plays' rule is unenforceable, thus it makes no sense.
If players want to agree to play 'legal plays' using today's rules, I have no problem with that whatsoever. The current rules don't prohibit such an agreement. But any attempt to write this into the rules will not work. It won't achieve what it intends, and there is no way to KNOW someone failed to follow the rule and no way to exact a penalty for the same.
And I STILL haven't heard one word explaining why of anyone in the room, *I* as my opponent's opponent should be required to correct his sloppy play.
End of thread for me. I haven't been convinced of anything with the various counter arguments.
