I suppose so, yes. For me, the Giants list is what it is, no less, no more -- one of several ways to get more, mostly deserving names out before the public. Whatever the faults of the list, it has been noteworthy as an indication of who some think the true giants are. As an ineligible-by-number-four nonvoter, I think that for a list of top active players, I'd just look at the annual backgammon earnings list. If there were one. Someone may point out, though, that such a criterion would probably skew the list from its historically American bias to a European one.

By the way, I think, Perry, that your third criterion would greatly (overly) limit the number of voters. But I've no quarrel with one, two or (sniff!) four.
