The dream chouette is where amongst good company the beer flows, but not torrentially. And the burgers and pita fills are edible. And everyone picks up one's own check.

I do like mandatory extras, for speed and sharpness of play. But not with a nonconsulting rule.

I've observed a few nonconsulting chouettes. It always seemed that the favorites were favorites and the fish were frying, and nobody was having a great deal of fun. Your mileage may vary. I can imagine why, after 20 years, one might prefer never more to hear the same arguments, for the same bad plays, from the same players ... then again, wouldn't they also be providing the reasons why the "winner treats" round is on your tab?
