Giant 32 Criteria

I am defining an eligible voter as one who will receive a ballot. The organizers have come up with a list of eligibles they know, but since they are not as familiar with European players invariably more Americans will get ballots. Is that fair? Shouldn't ballots be distributed with some relationship to the player populations from all of the countries that have organized tournaments in Europe?

I believe the organizers are not deliberately excluding any Europeans but going by the feedback they get from more limited access to info from players, directors, tournament results, and newletters in foreign languages.

I would love to see a more collaborative effort with representation of the major countries included as organizers so a more balanced issuance of ballots could take place. That includes Japan and some of the South American countries as well. But, I think Yamin may not have the time or interest in doing more than he is doing, and our community will have to involve others to make progress on this front. Carol Cole seems to be an ideal person to work on such a project but she is doing a lot, and maybe our community needs to find a way to compensate her for an expanded role.
