The chouette of my dreams

After reading all the responses it is clear to me that what the best rules are for a chouette depends on:
a) your personal preferences b) whether you are playing for relaxation, fun, and social intercourse or whether you are playing for serious money; c) what kind of people you happen to have in your game.
So I don't pretend to tell others what rules they should have in their chouette, I am only saying what I would like to see in my chouette.
When I play in a chou, it is because I enjoy the game of backgammon; because I enjoy gambling; and because I enjoy the intellectual stimulation of studying checker and cube decisions I am not sure of. Given the people we have in our Chicago chouettes and the stakes we are playing for, the rules we have initiated work pretty well ( but could be improved, in my opinion, with a couple of changes I have already listed).
When I play in other cities where the players, stakes, and rules are very different, I still really enjoy the game (most of the time), but I have to tell you that because of Malcolm's rules, Dallas was a lot of fun, and I was often in the Ft. Lauderdale and didn't play in the chou because the chou was not at all fun (and could have been if they would have played no consulting).
