Allowing or encouraging kibitzers to call out illegal plays is one of the most bizarre recommendations I've ever heard. The next thing you'll need is to hire people to monitor your matches for illegal plays.

Thank goodness this will never be adopted.

Tournament backgammon is supposed to be a test of skill between the two players. Outside help is anathema to the spirit of the game.

I can't believe how squeamish people are about allowing their opponent to make a crappy illegal play.
