Duplicate backgammon?

This is interesting.

But wouldn't it be better to simply assign everyone the error rate corresponding with their choice of play and then whoever has the lowest score at the end is the winner?

And why always make the best play? When constructing the quiz, take 3 intermediate players and have them write down their plays for each position. If two of them chose the same play, make it, otherwise make the best play of the 3 they chose. That will give the games and positions that arise a more human flavor.
