Phil... "but the good news is I will give you a free webex and show you some things you can do with it that might take you a while to find out for yourself"

That should be useful for most, perhaps even me, although I am slowly figuring out what nice features I want to use. Xavier has been helpful when I have asked for help also, either by email or catching him on GammonSite.

Re: XGR...I honestly think it is the strongest practical (ie real time on a good computer) way to analyse a recorded match. I believe that it is stronger than even GNU 4 ply and certainly it is lots quicker. What I am looking for is analysis most likely to tell me what the correct play is and whether I made a serious error or not when I step thru the analysis for the first time, and I am quickly coming to realize that is likely to be a XGR analysis.

Once Xavier gets the programming done so that XG can use more than two threads, those with high end comps will have a real powerful tool available since very high level analysis and rollouts won't take very long.

Re: using XGR to analyse a match, that's where this innocuous little 2 ply comes from http://www.bgonline.org/forums/webbbs_config.pl?noframes;read=48674 I didn't believe that the choice of 19-17 or 18-16 could make a real difference but it does, both according to my GNU rollout that I will post prior to 3 pm when the market closes, and the XG rollout I'll post when I get home.
