Good points Neil: My "tutorial" is really for less experience people...people who have not used Snowie or GNUBG before really need help understanding what all those little numbers mean, and the difference between 1 ply and 3 ply and xgroller.
But people who have used Snowie and GNU for years will still take a few weeks before they find out how to use the Analyze features and the Dice feature well. I love showing people how I play matches for money with Scott and others and we leave the panel open with "Free Mode" so that we instantly see our mistakes and can look at them when it is fresh in our minds.
And I also love showing people something you have taught me over the years...how to change a position slightly to test an hypotheses...to use that to find out if it's really the race that keeps you from hitting, or if it's because he has a better board.
However, following the arguments of people here about a new and improved board, maybe we should boycott Extremegammon because it incorporates and copies many of the things that were already done in GNU and Snowie and JF? Maybe we should be loyal to older, inferior products and not reward people who bring new and improved products to market. Maybe we should only drive Model T cars?
