Taki Board Copy

Sorry, Phil, you are quite simply wrong and are carrying this far further than it deserves.
I did approach you first, privately, after having misgivings of posting something directly onto the forum. You responded to my satisfaction. As I had had discussions in Madison regarding the Taki-board knock-off (not all initiated by me), I suggested you might post a message offering clarification to all. I certainly did not mean that you needed to 'clear your name'.
After your posting, I acknowledged my appreciation for your clarifications. Thereafter, while maintaining my opinion regarding the Turkish board, I said nothing else regarding you until you felt obliged to publicly call me out for making accusations against you. Battle on, I'm no more likely to back down than you are.
We differ on our evaluation of all the 'hard work' done by the Turkish board manufacturer -- he copied. I'm quite confident that if 'Mete', having been so impressed by your tutelage and having progressed so far as a player (and I doubt neither), had taken all of your teaching materials and began offering lessons himself in Europe you would have gone more ballistic than what we've seen evidenced here. I'm also quite confident, were I computer guru and photo shopper enough to post a backgammon position using an ExtremeGammon screen with the ExtremeGammon logo having been replaced by a DorkGammon logo, you would also go ballistic. I wouldn't blame you. But I think it hypocritical to not see the parallels with the Turkish board.
I'm sure you have made many referrals to Zavoral and Taki over the years -- I'm sure they appreciate it. But your current website says 'preferred board', not 'preferred boards'. The Turkish board is the only one I see mentioned -- perhaps I'm missing something. And, please don't get me wrong, it is your website and you certainly have the right to do anything you wish with it.
We differ on our perspectives of private and privileged communications. An e-mail between parties is a private communication. Without specific wording, perhaps, it is not 'privileged' in the legal sense. But, again, we have our differences in the observation of the legal and the ethical. I try to never post someone's e-mails to me w/o permission, I may occasionally cite phrases or sentences, without identification, if I don't have permission if the words are pertinent to a point I am making. That having been said, I have no problem in posting every communication we've had if you wish.
My points were apparently significant enough, even in your eyes, for you to add disclaimers and notices yesterday to your website addressing the very subjects of discussion -- financial interest in ExtremeGammon, none in the Turkish board. You notified me of the changes by e-mail. Were my questions unwarranted, why the changes?
As I've said before in various venues, I think you do a lot for the game and I do not question your integrity. My intent was certainly not to defame you. Clarifications have been made by both of us, we've both staked out the grounds of opinion.
I'm willing to give it a rest if you are. We doubtlessly both should -- everyone is probably tired of us. You think I wronged you, I think you wronged me. As you said, so be it. We will continue to disagree on the Turkish boards. As you said, so be it.
