6/5(2), 10/9, 24/23 looks natural and would unquestionably be my OtB choice. Points are good; blots are bad.... Blue is under pressure to play safely with one checker back, no board, a blot on White's side, etc. After the natural play Blue is likely to be trying to find a safe place for that checker on his 14-point, but that might not be so easy. The split back checkers double White's chances of hitting a blot Blue leaves (voluntary or otherwise) in the outfield.
Making both 5-point and 7-point has merit, and for all I know is going to be the QF (and RO best) move. I don't see the requirement that the 7-point be made this roll. Priming a single checker is hard to do early in the game. Blue would seem to be pleased to roll a 7 (six), 8 (four) , or 9 (four shots) after this move, even with no homeboard.
