Rory, calling another member of our chouette an asshole when you are not either the captain or the box is a serious breach of etiquette. If the chouette is to survive, as it has now for almost 30 years, it is important to maintain the customs and camaraderie that are the norm for our game.

Two weeks ago when I told you that you were full of shit and you called me an asshole, and we did it in person, I was able to exercise my option of taking my board and going home. (Appropriate action and reaction and completely in keeping with our rules.)

Earlier in the year when Albert took a swing at Paul, they were required to step outside in keeping with the traditions set earlier by Matt and others. As you may recall, this was done properly and I acted for Albert while they were outside and he won 2 points in the game in progress.

When Alex called me a motherfucker, again there was no penalty, but he has been banned from the club for refusing to pay the $5 restaurant fee, again in keeping with our rules and traditions. (Alex was not penalized when he threw a glass of water in Gary Kaye's face, simply because of the Gary Kaye rules.)

So Carter is right--if you are going to call someone an asshole, do it to their face in front of everyone so that we can all decide, in order, who really was the bigger asshole in that exact situation. To call Carter an asshole without giving everyone there a chance to vote is very unfair in addition to robbing us of the pleasure of witnessing any ensuing action and reaction.
