Thank you for this very instruktive link! Acc. to this link and its following links the confidence intervalls alone give not enough information whether two means are sigificant different or not in case of overlap.

We have to match the sizes of the confidence intervals with the distance of the said means as is done with the concept of j.s.d. as described by Chuck and Maik.

Often the confidence intervals +/- c are roughly the same for the alternative plays, as in the case here (53P21 S/$)

In this case we may simplify the j.s.d formula even more:

The difference d of the plays is significant, if

d > 1,4*c (assuming 95% c)

In our case: d= 0,016, c=0,01..0,011

0,016 > 1,4* 0,01..0,011 -> significant
