Common Errors?

I'm sure I'll eventually think of many others, but one that immediately pops into mind is in the bearoff.
Here's one that's easily applied in the bearoff. If you roll an ace, and you have a checker on the one point, it is ALWAYS correct to just bear that checker off. I see a lot of people do shuffling plays or cute gap-filling plays or desperation "stack 'em up to hope for a big double" plays.
One way to think about it is that wastage consists of bearing checkers off "farther" than they should go -- optimal bearoff puts checkers onto the "zero" point. The only way a checker on the ace point can NOT be borne off with wastage is to bear it off with an ace.
