When in doubt, hit. My problem is that I am often unsure whether or not I should be in doubt. ;-) Seriously: Hitting gives white 10 hits, which are very bad for blue. What might be more important is outfield control and connectivity. Blue will lose some of that if he hits. The alternative is 5/1 3/1, making it more dangerous for white to leave blots around and keeping the outfield in control and keeping a landing spot for the back checkers. If white makes the bar, blue can either attack or leap the prime. With QF, I like making the ace point.
