Excellent point! I do mean that the top human does everything possible to win the match, including attempts to exploit the bot's known weaknesses.
Also, another thing I forgot to bring up explicitly was the question of what "standard time controls" means and what level of bot play that means. Let's assume that the human plays on the computer, so that the computer does not "lose time" from the need to have a human player translate its play to a physical board. One tricky issue is the use of multiple cores. Hypothetically, one could imagine a machine with hundreds or even thousands of cores that is furiously rolling out the position. However, let's stick to a setup that is readily available, with no special purpose hardware or software. Do any of the bots have the capacity to exploit, say, 4 or 8 cores when playing n-ply?
