Snowie 5 ?!!??

I recall a year or two reading that the Snowie 5 prototype was winning 5 pts per 100 money games from Snowie 4 and that it would be released in several months.. but then nothing was seen nor heard.

My words for the Snowie team aren't so pleasant, since they should have quickly patched Snowie 4 to have checker play according to score.

I'll keep it short but Snowie 5 needs the following.

1) Be stronger than Snowie 4

2) Checker play and full look ahead according to score.

3) Faster would be nice.

4) A better MET would be nice and the ability to input one's own is a must.

5) 4-ply evaluation would be nice.

If they can't do all of the above, I suggest that they don't bother, and note that XG may have them blown out of the water anyhow and noting that GNU and XG have allready blown Snowie 4 out of the water.

Just my opinion based on experience ... my appologies to the Snowie team.. they had a ground breaking BOT and for many years the top dog. By improving upon JF and adding many useful features they have contributed greatly improving the level of BG play across the globe. ... however, Snowie's time has just about passed as technology marches on ... neilkaz ...
