A big backgammon tournament in the winter in Florida makes a lot of sense. Europeans like to escape from the cold weather, too! Of course keeping expenses down (e.g. hotel) is sometimes a reason some people don't hold conferences, etc. in FL in the winter but I'm sure Chiva et al. will work hard on keeping these down. (How are Europe<-->USA airfares in the winter? Maybe better than the summer....)

I'm wishing good fortune to Chiva and company for their upcoming efforts.
