In Response To: My thoughts for a potential rule change... (Chuck Bower)

It's really kind of funny/sad that this needs to be taken so seriously. If two people manage to start and finish a match to the wrong match length, that should be that. Both players are responsible for knowing what the correct match length is. If either or both of them are too lazy to make sure, then that's life. We can argue about what should be done if the mistake is discovered mid match I suppose, but my inclination would be to allow play to continue to the incorrect match length, unless the mistake were discovered very early, a vague term to be defined later. It borders on lunacy to think that we are supposed to roll a match back to the "incorrectly scored" crawford game, score it correctly and start again, ignoring whatever score based plays and cubes might have occured up to that point. It is beyond lunacy to suggest that the fair result is that the player who got to x first should win when they were both playing to x+whatever and the other guy got x+whatever first.
