In Response To: Wisconsin Backgammon Championship Tournament format (mtuhtan)

That's why Mislav started this thread - to hear thoughts from more experienced players/stuff what they think it's optimal format (for two-day tournament).

OK, to summarize my requirement: no player should ever be required to play a "meaningless" match, where the outcome of the match has no bearing on their equity.
