I agree with Stick. Hit with this 4-3. More checkers back for White means more gammon wins for you. You'll be wanting to play on for an undoubled gammon most of the time. You may often have a play-on if you make the prime, but you're not guaranteed to hit a fourth checker.

After a couple of beers, Gnubg confessed: DC's decision not to double is probably not as bad as my evaluation has it, and might even be right. My 22-point holding games never do as well as I think they should.
