1. You are correct about what the rule is 2. It is NOT the Simborg Rule...it is the rule that was agreed to in our Chouette in Chicago by the majority 3. It saves a lot of time and keeps the game moving 4. Yes, it does save some gammons that would not otherwise be saved...that tends to keep people from being slaughtered on larger cubes 5. The number of times the rule actually makes a difference is probably less than 10 percent 6. Yes, it does hurt the better players slightly, as they are more likely to make the better play, but even then, when they make the better play, some times they get gammoned as a result..so even they might benefit from this rule
