Simborg's Chouette Rule

I play in a chou about once a month where if a guy is down 10 points he gets the opening roll no matter what. We also play that when you there is no contact, if you roll 3 doubles in a row, the third one is played as a single. We also play that if the dice land flat anywhere on the backgammon board, no matter which side, or even on a checker, it counts.
I have played in chouettes where anyone who wins more than 10 points buys dinner.
I have also played where we have a rule that there is no settlement until the cube is on 4.
I play a guy heads up and we use the Simborg Rule (can't make a point on the opening roll or run with 6-5).
Yes, you can argue that when you make these "cutsey" changes it is not pure backgammon. I agree. It's not. It's different. But to those of us in those particular chouettes, we like these changes and we do them. We agree on these changes together, and usually, if someone does not like a change, we don't do it and stick to the normal rules.
If you want to have a game where you play naked and you have to move the checkers with your dick, that's your business. I hope you enjoy it, and I won't criticize you or tell you that you are doing anything wrong if you want to play that way. But I will tell you that you are discriminating against women.
