Simborg's Chouette Rule

I have played in chouettes where the favorite who may be off with most doublets next roll will sometimes 'give you your best' and see if he rolls a doublet before you make your play. As Steve points out '5 out of 6 times' this saves no time, but for some reason a lot of chouetters get irritated if someone agonizes for a few seconds over how to play a possibly gammon-saving roll.
'Give you your best' works best, saving some time and giving the agonizer a nice warm fuzzy feeling, when it actually makes absolutely no difference what he plays.
