Common sense should prevail

Here's the ABT rule and one assumes that similiar applies for Chiva's events.
5.5 CRAWFORD RULE. When either player reaches one point from victory, the next game (the “Crawford game”) shall be played to conclusion with a cube value of 1. The cube shall be removed from the board during the Crawford game.
That is all it says, at least in the link from Chicago Point. So.........
Why do I continue to say that common sense should prevail? It isn't because I like seeing myself type that phrase, but is because often I don't think all of us players are on the same wavelength when it commons to commonsence rules and rulings.
The rule says that the Crawford game is to be played to conclusion with a cube value of 1 so how is Trailer taking a shot at Leader here? Even if Trailer was taking a shot and Leader accepted the cube and was then BGed, he'd not lose 6 points but only 3.
Let's assume Leader also forgot that it was Crawford and was BGed here and then Trailer extends his hand and says good match. Leader would have to be quite clueless to not realize that something was amiss and what about the kibs, one would think that one might have alerted a staff member or director that someone had cubed in the Crawford game. OK I can go on and on, but it is very unlikely that the final score result of this game would be anything but an undoubled BG.
What if the leader passed the cube? Well, I know what I'd do if directing as long as I found out prior to the start of the next round, and that would be to cancel out that pass and to make the next game Crawford and adjust the score based on that.
Common sense prevails and there's almost no chance of a shot being taken by Trailer even if it is his evil intention. Once this is explained to Leader...he certainly should be able to control his emotions and chill out.
OK now for the dispute between the players..as I read it, Leader took great offense at Trailer's error in cubing at Crawford, and started the verbal fight. Trailer tried to defend himself verbally and then after things had calmed was called a PoS. Well..to me, it looks like Leader was the only player out of line and it was far out of line. I put Leader on notice for the rest of the event and for following events that he'd better be on his best doubly good nicey-nice behavior, and that any further issues will result in him being kicked out of this event and barred from the next 3 that this organization runs.
As for Trailer's behavior, it didn't sound like he did anything but verbally defend himself. Most of us would take offense at being called a PoS. (I've been called worse in ABT events) I calm Trailer down, but do warn him that he is not to cube at Crawford again.
Hmm...common sense might dictate that we need more specific rules about what happens when Leader or Trailer cubes at Crawford...or perhaps..common sense would allow directors to handle it via common sense ?
