i'd put them both on notice. if things are still edgy, maybe a 15-30 minute break where they can both contemplate mutual forfeiture of the match should they be unable to be civil. the bg ruling is cut and dried. as far as the name calling, i cite a higher authority. "Sticks and stones may break my bones ..." shake hands, play backgammon, or go home.
