Thanks Joe. Very helpful, and confirms what I have seen in our chouette at times. When the rules in our chouette changed a couple of months ago from consulting after the cube to no consulting until there is a 4 cube, it became even more important to keep the box, as the better player, on the outside, could no longer influence checker play as much as before.

When MCG was in our game, he was clearly the best, and I saw him take some really deep cubed to keep the box, and I questioned just how deep is correct...surely there is a point that is too deep...I think you have confirmed that point could be pretty far off of 22 percent given the right players and rotation.

One of the reasons I love chouette play is that the different skill levels and quirks of individual players create so many more variables.
