A Puzzle that Reall matters

The same is true in a tournament...aren't you happy when you look at the draw sheet and see that you next opponent is Joe Nobody and not Neil Kazaross or Steve Sax?
I'll admit to that, why not, there's no shame in it. At the same time, while I want to win, I also want an interesting experience that I can remember. I have little or no recollection of the Joe Nobody's that I've beaten, but I damn sure remember and like to regale the tales of the times I thumped some big time player, even knowing that it almost certainly happened because I got really lucky. Even knowing that playing a WC player means that I'm almost certainly going to get outplayed and that the only way I can win is to be lucky, it's still a thrill to win.
There's a huge difference between entering a tournament with those players in it and putting up with rich asshole fish for a chouette.
I don't have a problem with people playing for money... I take issue with people who play for money, accepting asshole fish into their chouettes BECAUSE they're fish (and ignoring or putting up with the asshole part), and thinking they're playing the noble game of backgammon. You sort of are, but your goal is to take the money from the fish.
Finally,
I also wanted to address that quote about the assholes also being the fish.
...
This issue HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH TAKING MONEY FROM FISH.
If that's really true, then I COMPLETELY misunderstood what you said, or you phrased things REALLY poorly.
The context of that came up with you asking about the rules for your chouette. I interpreted that very broadly and said that the worst rule you have is that you allow assholes in your chouette.
"We have to allow assholes to play, as, in the majority of cases, the assholes are also the fish." -- Phil Simborg
To me, this says that if the assholes weren't fish, you wouldn't allow them. Am I right? If I'm not, please enlighten me. I'm not trying to be sarcastic or snarky -- I just want to understand what you meant by this.
Phil, I'm not trying to be critical of you. You just happened to fall into my crosshairs as I go off on my semi-tirade. Really, this doesn't have to do with you, so don't take it personally. I'm just trying to stir up trouble.
