In Response To: An ethics issue raised in Paris? (Perry Gartner)

Well, I get your point Perry.

Ray is a generous person, he loves the game and he supports TD´s. He is a fun guy to hang out with and there were quite a few laughs over the table even in "high stakes" matches he had to play. He runs auctions for free in the USA and his skills don´t need to be "bribed". His track record of ABT speaks for itself.

I can only speak for myself and I can assure you that in no way, a ruling will depend on contributions, friendship and personal feelings towards a player. Rules are rules and will have to be respected by all players and I will enforce the rules regardless of names.

Exactly 1 year ago, on thew same tournament, I gave penalty points to Falafel for being late to start his match, regardless of him being a close friend and the top Giant. It was no big deal and he accepted the penalty and eventually played his way up to the final.

What Ray did, was simply generous and had no other meaning. The staff appreciated the gesture and took it as a reward for a job well done and for their hard work to keep everyone happy and run the event smoothly.
