Match recording ruling

What is the argument in favor of making it difficult for the player who needs a recording aid?
I don't know how videotaping is usually done at backgammon tournaments. Does the video typically record the players' faces? While I can see no objection to having the details of the actual game recorded, I do think it is reasonable to not want to have everything I do and say at the game be put on permanent public record. Of course if someone can always choose not to participate in the tournament, but I'm just saying that there seems to be a distinction between recording the game itself and recording the entire scene.
