Hypothetically (and this is not based on any facts of this particular instance), had I been a tournament director and had to put a match on a clock in the situation given AND I had heard the same comment after the match concluded, I would have let the result stand and DQ'ed him (with host discretion for the fairness and enjoyment of the players) and tossed his sorry ass to the curb.

Agreed. And don't come back.

The game would go smoother if we took the 2% of the people in the room who are pricks and told them to never come back. You wouldn't lose people... you'd have a net gain... the TD would gain a lot of respect and people who don't like to have to deal with jerks are more likely to stay around.
