Match recording ruling

It was pleasant to have Howard state unequivocally at the beginning of the tourney that anyone could videorecord any match.
Have any other directors made such statements? Patrick Gibson does similarly in a way... he hedges his bets and says it's allowed, space permitting, which seems reasonable. Not long ago, Patrick's venue was badly crowded after losing space after a dinner break... people weren't recording, I think. Howard doesn't (currently) have space issues, so the preemptive, unequivocal ruling was appropriate.
We've come a long way with that, now if we can only make similar progress with clocks.
It's progressing faster than I would have believed two years ago.
