Onetime shuffle rule

I understand this point of view, i happen to run a modest club in Switzerland: 60 members, most of them come from the chess world. some of them are IM but all accepted the rules as it it known today in the backgammon world.
-changing rules might frighten some experienced and inexperienced players. Is it the right time to scare the newcomers?=>We all know backgammon is facing tough competition
- clocks are good a good prevention because it prevent from exaggerations when changing checkers again and again ...
-Why should backgammon adapt to chess and not the opposite?(2 different games why 1 rules must be adapt to both)?
- Clocks again i believe are mandatory even if there are some potential losses in the scientific approach of the game =>not enough time to calculate everything. if we add to that the power to not visualized the best move before making a decision then our favourite game might become just a game of luck at the cost of skill: is this what we want?
Nack Ballard with all the respect i have for you, i think backgammon is not ready for such changes.
If tomorrow 100 players in a single tournament can do the exact MET calculation on complex positions then I agree let's make the game harder so the best players benefit from their knowledge and (or) ability. But so far I think it's premature.
