However, I think there is too much concern for technical expertise and too little discussion of the non-technical factors that contribute to a World Class player’s success.

I disagree. People talk about these non-technical factors all the time. However, for people who are addicted to fresh content, there's not much of interest here because most of the insights here are at least a few millennia old, and furthermore are not backgammon-specific.
