That's true but floating point on current CPU is much faster than you expect (or at least than I expected). Bgblitz2Go uses integer math, simply because some phones don't have floating point and the other have probably only a SW-emulation. I did the obvious and used the integer thing on a real CPU. I don't remember the exact numbers but I think it was aout lousy 15% speedup..... Branches that were evaluated wrong and memory access hurt MUCH MUCH more.... IIRC one memory access that isn't in any cache can cost 200-300 CPU cycles....
