In Response To: Fast-roll tournament ruling? (Chuck Bower)

Chuck, while I agree with you for the most part, your solution does not deal with the possibility that the player fast rolled, saw he had low dice, picked them up quickly and re-rolled. As it is impossible to prove he did this intentionally, it is possible to assume that at some time someone might do this intentionally, and intentionally or not, the player might have profited by picking up his dice quickly when he made a bad roll. Therefore, to be SURE that the other player is not possibly hurt by the fast-roller's action, either the bad roll should stand or the player loses his roll completely. He should not get his 6-6, and he should not get a chance to roll over, and that's REGARDLESS as to whether he was given prior warning or not.

This business about having to warn someone to follow the rules, and that they don't get penalized unless they were warned, is VERY UNFAIR to players who don't break rules, and especially unfair to their opponent.
