No problem.

and cut the date to 10/12/09, even ditch the 09 if you feel like it.

Just to explain why I date things year first... I do this for all of my match files, that way when they're in a directory, they're sorted in proper order. Dating things YYYY-MM-DD or YY-MM-DD (when you don't care about the century) will sort correctly by lexicographic ordering on the characters.

People who make podcasts, for example, should date things this way, so that the files are sorted correctly.

This naming convention is probably not an issue here, but I would like to keep the year, on the rrrreally off chance that I want to search for these later.
