Thought experiment that shows backgammon is like the second model?

Suppose A & B both have the same Elo. A is highly aggressive with the cube, B is highly passive with the cube, yet in the long run they both win 50% of their matches against each other.

C is rated 500 Elo above A and B, D is rated 500 Elo below A and B. A wins significantly more matches against C than B wins against C; however, A wins significantly less matches against D than B wins against D.
