So far behind in the race, I don't make the point.

13/5 makes the 5-point as fast or faster than 13/8, 13/10. Just don't roll 1-1 next turn. Bringing two of the midpoint makes one of the three desirable points {5,7,8} faster. It looks close. Patience is usually underrated.
