I'd really like to play 2/1 with the 1, in order to build a stronger board. We're in trouble here, with no control of the outfield, and a stronger board is one of the few assets we have a chance of creating. But bar/23 2/1 does leave an awful lot of good ways for White to attack. If we lose a doubled gammon, there goes the match. Reluctantly, therefore, I play the "obvious"
