Settlements for Money

Like Neil, I prefer to roll out games rather than settle. That's the surest way to keep things moving. I rarely offer a settlement because it can so often lead to wasted time through negotiation without resolution or even hard feelings. If someone offers me a settlement, I'll accept it if it's either exactly fair or to my advantage, otherwise just roll.
I can hear you ignoring my first two sentences and saying, "That's the whole point," and I know that are plenty of hedgehogs roaming the plains. If volatility reduction is a prime directive, the settlement chart is a sound idea. I would, however, urge you to make sure that everyone understands and agrees that it is mutual, enforceable or required (lol), or whatever.
More importantly, I think you need to make clear what happens when a settlement position is reached but someone rolls anyway, or someone tries to stop the roll while yelling "Chart!" but part of it is seen or maybe-seen, etc., or if someone rolls and an argument ensues over whether it is the game continuation or the roll for purposes of chart settlement. (I don't need to know what you decide -- I'm just trying to help.)
Finally, the formatting could use some improvement (or maybe something happened in the html exportation -- you probably already know).
Good luck and Happy New Year,
Nack
