In the rules digest section below, the term QB is used: http://www.nfl.com/rulebook/protectionofpasser

Suppose that a player who is usually a RB takes the snap (Ricky Williams for instance) but is doing a passing play. Does he get the same protection? I saw more complete (the complete?) rules before but cannot find them now. There were several more obsure rules that pertain to "the quarterback". For example he is allowed to wear a half length sleeve but other players are not. The term QB was not defined though.
